alright i just got my hands on a roland fantom s, set up the midi channel input on the mp to record the first track ey'thangs good. Now I good to switch different instruments on the roland and now I'm hearing the sound that I recorded as the new sound I just switched to in the roland....

Basically on track one on the mpc I want to record a bass patch from the roland, track 2 strings, track 3 horns, and so on and so on...

what am I doin wrong??

check the other site you posted this question on ....I alread answered it.....you gots to make sure you change the sounds on each channel.

Sounds like you got the Fantom in Patch mode. Only one channel is accessible in patch mode. This mode is great for p;aying riffs and sampling them into the MPC but you cannot sequence the Fantom from Patch mode. You must create a Performance. This will give you access to separate MIDI channels and will allow you to set up individual instruments for each channel.

I got an S88 too, this is how it gets done.
