how do i change tempo of my sample?

ok so i have a sample of a woman singing, and its not fitting with my tempo properly. i dont know what its tempo is but as opposed to changing my seq tempo id like to change the tempo of the sound itself to 95bpm. i tried trim function and change tempo but that seems to change the tempo from an "original" tempo which is set by the mpc automatically or i dunno. but yea help?

set the original tempo of the sample, which you can do by editing a patched phrase to set the original tempo, or by specifying the original tempo when using Time Stretch

then once the MPC knows the sample's original tempo it can correctly adjust it to fit your sequence's tempo

or if you can't figure that out, you could create a sequence with just that sample, play it back at a different tempo and resample it.

Could you just please explain how i would edit a patched phrase to get the tempo?

Also if I create a new sequence with just the sample, how would that make the sample fit my tempo? the length of the sample would remain the same right? If let's say i make a new sequence and set it to 95bpm. Then i record my sample on a track how woud my sample's tempo get adjusted?

change the sequence's tempo, so the sample plays back at a different tempo, then resample it

for the 2nd point - I thought that if i make a sequence and change the tempo, the beats per minute change simply but not the sample itself. i thought that if i lets say lowered the bpm then when i record the sample it would simply take more bars to record the whole thing on a track. this is the thing im confused with, if you could explain that i'd really appreciate it.
