from what I have seen and heard... integrated effects that come built into mixers aren't that great. okay EQs dont count obviously...

but if you want good effects get a dedicated effect unit. It really depends on what effects you need.

I think to avoid needing to rebuy something better later on you should probably get the best mixer you can afford. do you effects on the DAW until you can afford to take the next step and get yourself the effect you need such as a nice dedicated studio reverb, or pair of 3rd of an octave EQs.

700 bucks is good cash for a used mixer, locally you can get mackie 24/8's for like 800 sometimes the one with a built in lexicon digital multi effect unit.. maybe you can bargain down to 700 if you find one locally near you if it pops up or post a wanted add in your craiglist. I mean you can do that for what ever you are thinking of getting.

those go locally for 800 or so dollars... 850.... and they dont sell right away. you offer a guy 700 cash right off the bat and he might say no problem.

I will say though, it is a huge bonus if it has the box it came in... mackie doesn't want to fix their products if you dont have the original box from what I understand.
