Cant open file

I have a mpc 2000xl with a compact flash reader and one minute im able to load sounds, then i try to load and it says cant open file. all my sounds are in .wav format and it wont even let me sroll thru the sounds in the folders. I even try to reformat the flash card in the mpc and then tryin to load the sounds again but nothing. any ideas??

now no matter what i do rather its trying to load a sound its says wrong file format and when i try to update the os it says wrong file. any help please.

sounds must be 16 bit 44.1k wave files.

try mono first cause i don't know what spec stereo files need to be at.

there are many ways to encode wave files, so that could be the problem.

to test your card + card reader, sample from the mpc and save that, then reboot and try loading that.

also maybe try sampling on mpc, saving as wav, move to computer, edit, then send back to mpc.

i've noticed that the samples with some characters on the file name can't be loaded in my mpc2000, don't know what are those characters...

good point...also file name lengths. try to keep everything at 8 chars or less just to avoid problems.

yeah if i try to sample something i can save it but after i turn if off and turn it back on it wont load the sample, think it may be the carder reader??

i just cut the name back to 7 laetters the 8 was still fuking up
and having to re make the pgm files ext....
