Hook-up to computer speakers?

I've been using my mpc1000 with headphones only. But I wanna hook my mpc1000 up to some speakers (preferably my computer speakers).
How do I do this the best way?

My computer has 'line-in' and 'mic-in' (mini jack). Can I connect the mpc1000 from its 'stereo out' (or 'digital out'?) to one of these computer inputs? Do I need a mixer to do this? Also, is it possible to use the USB connection for this?

you need to connect the 1/4 phono jack to the back of the mpcs stereo output, you also need an adaptor to plug it down to a1/8 connection on the back of your computer mic in.

But there are two 'stereo outs' (right and left), and I only have one 'mic in' on my computer... Do I just use either the right or left 'stereo out'?
Can I use the 'digital out'?

You need to get a cable with 2 1/4 jacks which will run from your stereo outs into your mic in which will a 1/8. You should have no trouble finding these cables at a music store.

But is the 'stereo out' better than the 'digital out'? Considering that the two 'stereo outs' will be running into one input anyways...

Your mic intput might be mono, so use line in instead, which is stereo. In theory the digital in/out would be best (I dont use this myself though) because this will mean less convertion between digital and analogue. Also because the digital signal dont loose information and dont get noice from cables.

JUST make sure that the 1/8 plug has 2 dark rings around it to indicate "stereo" radioshack can hook you up cheaper than a guitar center though

take your mpc with you and show them what your trying to do

what i do is take the computer out of the equation by simply taking the cord that would go into the comp and putting it directly where i would put my headphones. it works great

do that unless you want to record it onto your comp too
