Exchange tips and tricks for the Akai MPC4000

Here's the question, in the images below you can see I went from track-001 to 003. I changed to Part 2 on track 002 and I want all the tracks from now on to be locked onto Part 2. When I get to track-003 you can see I'm back to Part 1. Anyway to keep the tracks that follow locked on the Part I want? Or is it a select the Part everytime. I've tried to set defaults for the track but that didn't work either. Anyone who knows I'm all ears.

Basically you should set up all the parts the first time and save it as a template. After that this RTM.

Thanks Haze. Unfortunately I don't work the same way a lot. I'm a little scattered, so a template won't help me much. There may be 3 drum sets spread over 3 parts for 1 song, then 5 for another. Synths all over for one song, none on another.

I got everything you were saying except after this that RTM (read the manual)?

Didn't get that part.

Update!!! Looks like I overlooked Shift-Default. That locked in every track to any setting I have currently set. The best part is doesn't overwrite previousrt tracks. So issue solved, thanks Haze, you get me thinking then I figure it out. We should make music together if your suggestions get me to the actual answer everytime!
