$1,200..Looking for recomendations

I respect that - but I still disagree

I've been a consultant acoustician in studios for years - and i'd rather mix on mid priced monitors in a treated room than high end ones in a non treated one.

I guess its just the acoustician in me coming out - I've seen so many monitoring disasters in my time that I can't help it - (In professional and semi pro studios)

Anyway - lets get back on topic to the OP.

Ok, I can respect that, but an acoustically untreated room would yield a better result than a treated room and no monitors lol.

It was gonna cost me $750 to treat mine. Still saving.

If you're not going to stay with music it'll be easer to get your money out of monitors vs. treatment though, that's for sure

Get some good flat sounding monitors and the ones without the bass boost or sh!t like that. As for what brand, I don't know, I made my own monitors from car speakers (sh!t always sound good in the car right). 2 300w Bass Acoustics for lows and 2 2-way 120w Pioneers and all powered by a little 75w Pyle Amp. I get the flattest sound from that and it all cost $250 including materials to build the cabs.

How is the sound translate onto other systems ?

yeah but keep in mind at 120 volts... that aint actually two 300 watt woofers for lows ... and also, aren't car speakers designed to run at 2 ohms? hopefully your amp can do that or you could burn it. peace!

Well if your studio existed inside a closet, then I would say thats pretty much of a compact space for car-audio.

It comes out pretty dope. You know you've done justice to your sound when it cranks on laptop speakers. On a larger scale its booming but you can hear the mids and highs clearly.

Yes, check this out right, if you take two 2ohm speakers and bridge them together, you'll get 4ohms and thats how I got them hooked up. As for the amp, I have a cooling fan for it and on a normal basis It stays on 6 hours a day the most, but at volume 3 its already beastin' so I not looking to open a night club in a 7x7 space
And yeah the bass does come out flat, but I can feel and hear the lows pretty good, yes indeed

wait a second, if you bridge them... wait, if you pair them up in parallel you will half the resistance not double it.. in series it would double but is that a good idea?

I dont know though, I dont really know anything about car systems... and yeah I suppose you would need a fan! lol.. try and keep that fan motor away from the equipment cause of that magnetic field!

I hate to say this but.. I'm not a fan of mixing on the Yamaha MSP5s. Mixes did not translate well.

Do you need 2 turntables and are you looking for a mixer to integrate them? I would look into a single used tech, numark or vestax unless you're going to dj.
