How do you arrange your drum kits pad wise?

how do you guys arrange your drum kit sounds across the pads for the best ergonomics?

just got that vinage drum machine sample pack and want to keep a uniform layout of each sound for every kit but wondering where to start for the best playability

I have some kits laid out that way, but I don't use the fingers indicated in that diagram.

I probably should try to though, I might be less crap if I did!

wow, that's almost exactly how I do mine too, I just never use any fingers besides index

well on the mpc 60 it tells you where to put the sounds lol...

Sample... Sample... Crash... Splash
Snarebig.. Snarethin.. Closed hh.. Open hh
Fill1.... fill2. ... Opt... Optional
Kickbig... Kickbaby. Bass.. Bass

Bottom row all kicks,second row all snares, third row all hi hats and top row is all efx. And that's for each bank so if I need to locate a sound I know where it is.

I like the snare and kick together
The open close hats together

Claps Toms Rides Crash bottom as employed or not.

I usually find it useful to keep the Snare and Kick
close to whatever samples I am dropping in... Makes
it faster to line up my rythm to samples...

Keep the meat and potatoes grouped, usually layer in other percussion
so thier placement is secondary.

I have no set kit ( or dedicated fingers ) rather
Set each kit up on the fly for conveniece per project.

I understand wanting to keep a standard setting, but to my workflow
it would create more steps to standardize something that. Changes
with my needs every job...,

I sampled my own drum kit and decided on this setup. It's worked pretty well so far!
