I've got the USB version of this mixer and everything is going well BUT the sound from the mixer comes delayed on my computer ... So I can't play around with my mpc or the mixer while recording ... Does anybody know how I can fix this problem ? (Sry for bad english)

Edit: Also the sound I hear from my monitors on the mixer is different to that what I am recording ... So the regulators are for the volume of the channel on my computer system and for the effect volume on my monitors ... Strange thing ...

sounds like buffer latency to me...

This sounds like a latency issue.

You are hearing your mpc Pre-computer and you are hearing your computer, of course, post computer.

Does that even make sense?

You can play with the latency settings in your DAW, or you can sometimes change how the monitoring works - hardware or software. You could get everything synced up if you choose software monitoring, but you would still have a delay probably.

Another option is to set your mpc to sync slaved to your daw, and put a bit of delay in the midi transmission. Again, this is something you set up in your DAW.

I do not know that particular mixer, but hopefully by looking up 'latency' a bit you will figure out a solution.

Edit: if you are not trying to hear what is in the DAW, you can disable all software monitoring and just listen to the mpc.

Hmm I WANT to hear the monitors on my mixer and nothing on my computer monitors while I am recording ... The problem is the following: What I record on my computer is different from that what I am hearing on my mixer ... As I said the regulators are normally for the volume of each channel ... But when I am monitoring from my mixer I hear only changes of the effect volume and the volume of each channel must be regulated with the gain .... When I record that on my pc the recorded track is okay but effects and the volume of the channels are not as I heard it before on the mixer ... That can be very tedious. Sry for bad english I hope you know what I mean ...

Edit: yes I can listen to the mpc ... But I want to hear the mixed track on my mixer-monitors ^^

Are the tracks being recorded at full volume?

That is CORRECT. You want the tracks recorded at full volume because you can always turn down / automate the volume later in the DAW.

Is that what you mean when you say "When I record that on my pc the recorded track is okay but effects and the volume of the channels are not as I heard it before on the mixer"?

The idea is that you get the raw, unaffected signal into the computer as you record, and then you mix/add fx later.

If you want to add effects while recording, then you do not need to record each track, you might as well just record the stereo out of the mixer.

I think you should take the mixer stereo-out and hook that up to the monitors. Otherwise, turn software monitoring ON and then monitor what is coming out of the software, not the hardware (MPC).

I want to get the same sound on my computer as I heard it before on my monitors (that I have connected to the stereo outs of the mixer) of the mixer ... The problem is that I hear a different song on my computer as the recorded one which I heard before on my mixer and thats **** up .. On my monitors which are hooked up to my mixer the channel regulators are for the effect volume of each channel and I can't change the main volume of the channels with that ... On my computer they are for the main volume on the channels ... and also nearly everything sounds different from that what I am hearing on my mixer monitors ... And thats my problem ... I want to record that on my pc what I am hearing on my mixer ... I add effects through the mixer and everything is READY when it comes out the mixer .. I only want to record it to my computer nothing else ^^

As I said then, you might as well just record the stereo out of the mixer.

I think this comes down to the fact that I don't know exactly how to use that mixer, and so I'm not sure how to tell you to record the main outs.

It's likely in the manual.

The way I would do it is record the individual tracks in your daw, then redo the effects etc there. Maybe also record the mixer stereo out as an aux/reference.

A hack would be, patch the main outs back into a mixer channel (or two, for stereo), mute those, then record everything.
Assuming your daw records tracks PRE-fader (that's what I gather from what you have been talking about), those tracks will now contain the mixer output but will not be sent to the main out for monitoring...if they ever do get sent to the main outs be prepared for an incredibly loud feedback loop that could kill your ears/speakers/mixer...so be careful. I do this all the time analog and it works great.

I've rode the manual ... I've connected my monitors to the monitor outs ... But WHY I can't change the volume of the channels with the faders (When I'm pre-listening on the monitors) ... -.- When I set a channel from "On" to "Off" and pull down the fader there is still the full volume on the channel ... But when I
m recording via Usb to my computer the faders are well for the channel volume so the whole sound is not how i want it ... I don't know what I should do ... The manual has no answer for me =/

I read the manual (it sucks), and that mixer can't even do what I thought it was doing.

My only other guess, is that you are monitoring something DIFFERENT from the main out.

There are two sets of 1/4" outs...the monitor outs and the main stereo outs. Try plugging your monitors into the main stereo outs.

Also, check what you are monitoring...i think you are just monitoring a different bus than the main output.

Also UNCHECK all the PFL switches (learned that from the manual).

EDIT: to sum up -
Uncheck all PFL
Make sure each channel is routed to STEREO (ST)
Make sure the monitor is set to STEREO (OR just use the main stereo outs)

Hmm .. What do you think I'm monitoring ... And how I can change that ? The manual is shit and I can't get an answer out of it. Hmm I've sent you an PM with a pic of my mixer ... Above in the right there is the Stereo out and left of it that is also an Stereo out ?! .. When I am pre listening through this there comes NO sound ... ARGH ... But it should be possible to hear the right sound through the monitor out or not ? Man this is annoying -.-

That mixer can assign different channels to different 'buses' (called groups on that mixer).

Stereo outs are one.

Groups 1-4 are others.

If you are listening to monitor out, and the sound levels dont change, you probably have PFL switches on.

If you are listening to stereo out and no sound comes out, you probably have no channels assigned to stereo out.

The easiest solution, assign all channels to stereo out, and plug your monitors into the stereo out.

EDIT: Is there anyway a mod can move this to another forum? This is unrelated to the MPC 2KXL.

The USB out records the Stereo out.

You did not annoy at all, and you just learned a lot more about mixer routing than you knew before.
Also Stereo out and PFL should be unrelated...I think the PFL is tied to Monitor out only...two paths to the same destination.

Glad to help.
