Alesis M1 Monitors

Does anyone use Alesis M1 monitors in there set up? I here there the Best
for Beatmakers because of there flat response.

I use M1's but only cos they were cheap, I had the $$ in my hand and they sounded good.....

Monitors are very subjective. You ask 10 people and they will tell you 10 diferent monitors that are the best. The trick is to teach your ears to learn the sound of your monitors by listening to other peoples mixes you like on your monitors and taking your stuff and listening to it in other enviroments for reference. (in the car, on a different stereo etc.) By the way, I use the M1's and have for a long time. Not because I think they are better than another brand but because I am use to them and I can tell if something is going to sound like crap on another system. They are good monitors but you should compare them with comparable ones and get the best price. Just stick with the major brands in the same price range and you won't go wrong.

P.S. You can have the flattest sounding monitors in the world but remember that the enviroment that you are using them in can void out their benefit.

yea i have the power ones. They are real flat. I had to play cd's i really like in them to get use to how flat they where cause when i created drums i would dry and get them to bang and boy when i wen to the car and play the same shyt them boys bang a lil too much. I got use to them but they are some good monitors for the price. Right now tapco has the mackie name and if anybody want the real mackies but cant afford them they are gona get those because of some reason.
