Im thinking of copping the intro version aswell!

but one of the main limitations (to me ) in the intro version is that you r limited to 8 scences.

Im using like 20 scences or sequences in song mode when arranging on the mpc... but if using live as a complement to the mpc it might be possible to get around the limitations... and I guess that mpc users are pros when it comes to getting around limitations =)

Tracks

Ableton is the truth and a lot of people sleep on it. Seems like more heads go for Logic, Reason or FL Studio.

I've been using Ableton for years. It is a great program. I developed my own work flow in it. I kinda use it like and MPC & ASR-10 combo. Drum Rack is similar to and MPC and Sampler is similar to an ASR-10.

The timestretching in it is great, once you get it down and understand it.

Everyone has their own way of workn with it. There's so much you can do with it, I'm constantly learning new things. Right now i'm on version 8.1.5. I didn't upgrade to the new version with the Bridge, because I don't use Serato.

It does have a steep learning curve, but if you stick with it, it's def worth it.

Been using it since version 6. I love it even though version 8 was rubbish for a whole year until I could work with it. For most part I track the 2000xl on it or track out loops made on the EPS. I like quantizing stuff at a perfect quantization then I apply the groove tool and also warp tool

Tho I had a hard time goin from all hardware to Ableton Intro... I think its very much worth it. I'm glad I gave it a fare shot. As far as the limitations on features; I cant miss what I've never had. For $99, it's worth every penny IMO. It's a nice complement to my set up.
