Emu Esi 2000. i just got one for $200 and it is real ill. got some decent filters. anyone got this piece?

i got a s2000 too. i was just gonna get the 8outs for the s2000 but said screw it and got this joint. now im just gonna use em both.

Good Score. Better filters than s2000. Maybe 64 or 128 memory. thats alot. does it have 8 outs and digital? How much memory?

128mbs, 4 outs (1 stereo, 2 subs), u can get an emu turbo option for it that adds effects, digi, and 4 more outs. but that shit is a waste i heard. i got my off ebay but i was goin to go with emus site they havin a blowout. but i got mine with 128 in it allready for the same price of the bay

I got a ESI-2000 Turbo and the S-2000 is not in the same league as the ESI.
The built in filters are the s**t once you get the feel for them.
Using them with your MPC2k will easily get you MPC60 or SP drums.
The best part of the Turbo option is the extra routing, SPDIF and effects that are very usable.
The problem is it's cheaper to find a unit with Turbo than add the option.
EMU was selling ESI-2000 turbo units direct for a couple hundred, which was a good deal.
If you didn't get a manual download and print it, you will need all 262 pages.
Now for a warning, the devices that EMU says works with the SCSI are the ones that work.
If it's not on the list you probably won't get it to work.
Believe me I tried a lot of devices that would lock the unit up or prevent it from booting.
Using devices on the list has been problem free; 2-SCSI HD's and CD-rom work everyday.

i saw a couple of emu samplers advertise, and i keep hearing good sh*** about those filters, as in really warm sounding, they say akai is just brash, and hard, while emu has a bit more low end and is warmer. i was thinking of copping one, but there are so many different models.
i doont know which is the first or the last in terms of models, and the varying difference between them.
but yeah binger, thts a steal. plus also its nice to have different d/a converters from different makers, of equipments, varying sounds.

One more thing Binger-o when you are flippin thru the manual learn the short-cut buttons, it lets you do things a lot faster.
