i hav a alpha-juno 2 keyboard and a mpc 2000.should i invest in a module and if so is da mo phatt a good 1

yea definately. thats what i think. you can never have too many sounds to use.

i heard different opinions on the mo phatt. i dont know much about it. maybe try going to a music store and trying one out?

I never try the Mo Phatt, but I will sugget a Roland XV or Motif, both for expansion cards and sound quality.
Yeah, A-Juno is a great digital/analog synth, add a good module to ya setup!

You HAVE to go to a store and listen to the mo'phatt. A lot of people love it, but just as many absolutely hate the sounds it has.
I have the Mo'phatt soundset on my pc, but i've never used it.

if you go xv, the sounds are not compatible with the jv and loads of studios have the jv, so you will be on your own, unless you carry the module with you. if you want emu module sounds, then get something like a proteus, and install the mo phatt card. the only thing tht really seperates the emu module range, is the intiatil card it comes with, thts all, so u can even hold a pk6 and get the mo phatt option.

Trust me if you go to Roland go for XV Bro! JV are absolete not the sounds but the rack itself, I mean no COSM FX... and severals things XV features and JV don't, also on XV you could read Akai S1000/3000 cd's .wave and aiff...plus you can read all SR-JV Rom cards...
So, you can put a JV in your XV but not the opposit!!!

How did you get the Mo'Phatt soundset on your Pc??? You have got to school me.

You can get most of their older soundsets at the EMU site as Soundfont 2 files.
Then load the SF2 file into a softsampler like exs24. All the patches show up in the sampler, and the filters and stuff work too.
They're cheap too, i think the mo'phatt was something like $20.

The Roland xv3080 was a great unit....I tried to get one but they discontinued them soooo fast........

Hey Kybeat, try to get a 5080, big unit dat! I bought one in real mint condition, the guyhave it since 3 months... 1500euros with two SR-JV ROM in it & 128Mo, plus hadrcase!
And I really think the 5080 is the best synth rack module out there, I don't believe Roland on the Fantom serie... For me it's the same sound engine than the 5080, they just add a few patches and more slot for the SRXRom... an the XV serie introduce the new SRXRom and new Roland's sound...

please listen carefully do not and I repeat don't buy any EMU sound modules, they are horrible. two years down the line after you buy it you will out grow it.

I have a Novation K-station it works pretty good you can make your own sounds and tweak your sounds so I can never really out grow it.
