I just purchased a MPC 1000 today. It had the stock OS on it. So i downloaded and installed the JJOS1 then paid for it. I received the password like 20 minutes later. Then i installed the JJOS2XL and paid for the password. Then 10 minutes later i received the password and it all went flawless.

However, I can't find where any of my drum sounds went. Seem to have erased them or I just havent figured this out.

Any suggestions!?

When you install XL it erases everything in the flash ROM, because that's where it installs to. So everything there is gone. Also, it may not autoload whatever the Akai OS was autoloading. I'd say its a non-issue, because you will want to have your own samples in there.

Yes, I had the program selected but still no pad's were loading. I believe "MP3" is correct, I just wasn't sure if when you install the 2xl, wether or not it re-installed the factory sounds or not. I also backed up the fusion file(from the stock Akai OS) on my desktop before i updgraded...would the sounds be on there? I found on a different thred on this forum for a link to the factory sounds. I have that on my desktop as well. Do i just go to pad, load, usb and drop them on my MPC hard drive that way?

sorry for being such a newbie. I think this MPC-Forum.com is absolutly fantastic! i have learned alot in just two days and intend on extensivly reading the manual, JJOSXL manual, and also go a copy of the "beat making mpc-1000".

thanks for the input so far!

Yup. But I wouldn't waste my time putting the factory samples back on there. You're not missing anything.
