MPC 5000 and Motif XS6 Problem, Please Help!

I just bought a MPC 5000 last night and Im having trouble trying to play my Motif with the MPC, Im trying to play instruments on the Motif tracks on tracks 1 -5 now, I have my Motif Plugged into Midi In 2 and Midi Out B so my MPC should be on B when using Midi tracks...

I cant seem to get the MPC drums off of the Motif when Im trying to lay sounds on 1B - 5B which would be track 1 - 5 on the Motif...

Can someone please help me in getting the MPC to just record the sounds of the Motif without having the sounds of the MPC Drums laid over the Motif?

I hope that makes sense, basically I want to play the Motif on the MPC without hearing the MPC drums when I press the Motif's keys...

If someone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it...
