Anyone needing to upgrade their s/w to 1.71 will need to extract the zip file and save it to a usb flash drive or cd.

bro you need to get a manuel.you can download the upgrade from akai burn it to cd and load it in the MP.

do i want to extract it then put it on the flash usb?
i did that but im having troubles getting my mpc to read the file..
do i have to have the usb pluged in then turn on the MPC?
or have the usb then go into the load menu?

download the mpc4000 OS Loader (mac or pc) plus the usb driver and unzip.

download the mpc 4000 operating system v.1.71 and unzip.

connect your mp to pc and open OS Loader. it will ask you to choose the os you want to load, pick the 1.71 version.

and my computer wants me to add new hardware
what drivers do i need?
because i cant open the os loader because it says no mpc is connected..
