well I dont think this is specific to just the 3000... in general I would think that CF is better then zip because it is faster and more reliable.... no moving parts, no click of death which can happen, more storage space. Now for hard drives, it may be harder to do the transfer from computer then cf... however the 3000 is a nice sounding sampler and I would suspect you would want to take full advantage of that by using the record inputs, converters, etc...

so yeah, I suggest CF over zip and might as well also get a scsi hard drive too...

one thing, always power off the mpc before changing scsi things.

How long is the cf vs something that would take 10 minutes on the zip 100?
Thanks.

well honestly, on the 3000 I dont know but on the 2000xl I noticed a slight increase.

the jump from floppy to zip was MUCH greater then the jump from zip to cf cards.... zips are much quicker then floppy.... I think lets say it takes a minute on the zip it would take like 50 seconds on the cf .... maybe.

the main thing for me was not needing to take out the cf card... it is like a hard drive almost haha.
