Akai S950 & 3000 file formats!

are the Akai S950 and MPC 3000 file formats similar or the same??

im aware that the S950's programme format is .prgrm but what about its sound format?? is it .snd like the MPC 3000?

im asking because i jus read about some dude who asked if you could dump samples into his MPC 3000 from ReCycle, and a dude replied saying if you save the sample from ReCycle with the MIDI file in .sn format you could! but i wonna know if the same sorta thing applies to the S950??????

Trying to figure out how to make MPC3000 read Midi files exported from ReCycle ...
it cannot export SND format .... so there must be a workaround using other conversion apps on OSX?

RS-16X will batch convert WAV to .SND.

I've been using RS16X for a while already and it's cool for concertion WAV to SND
but I was asking about MIdi file that recycle creates ...
how to edit it that it would be readable by MPC3000...?

are you talking about the rex file? you could load it up into your DAW then export it as a MIDI file. I still don't see how you can import that into the MPC3000.

why not just record the midi into the MPC? also, if you have more than one midi file, make use of the MPC's tracks?

Read in MPC3000 manual that it is possible to recieve and initiate a MIDI Sample Dump
to and from another sampler.
Tried to do it from my S950 sampler but to no success...

Is it possible to sent a MIDI Sample Dump from Akai S950 to MPC3000 at all?


here is what i 've tried:

MPC3000 and S950 are conected with 2 MIDI cables woith each

1)
MPC3000 Midi Sample dump screen --- Send request <Send req>


2)


3) AKAI S950 -- Sample Edit page --- pushed 0, On, Off buttons simultaniously to
initiate MIDI Sample Dump send.... than i am getting THIS wierd screen--

anyone have seen this before !


4) when i press Page Down button on S950 ( as manual suggests)
i get the Sending Sample message just for a 2 seconds than it returns
to previous strange screen ... ?


than i f i press any button on S950 it locks in a screen with just bunch of numbers ...?



What am i doing wrong?

anyone has an idea?

From what I read on the Internet it seems that the s950 midi dump protocol is different from the sample dump standard.

On my s950 if I press page down nothing happens.

Do you always manage to have (well see during 2 seconds) that screen?

well, whe i push 0, ON, OFF buttons simultaneosly than Sample light stops flashing
than i press page down... so the sending Sample message flashes on the screen for 2 sec...
but nuthing rally happens...

how to Sample Dump from S950 to MPC3000 ?
but maybe MPC3000 cannot recieve from S950 at all as S950 uses a different Dump protocol?
