To microkorg XL + MPC2000XL users

Hey !

Can somone explain me 'step by step' how to hook up microkorg to mpc ? got cables plugged correctly but i dont know how to set up channels etc... i want to use all my mpc programs,sounds aswell as microkorg in mpc sequencer. i know how to record ONE track with one sound from korg to mpc seq ,but always when im changin to channel 2 on mpc to record another track with other sound from microkorg it automaticly change to sound from channel 1 it look like only one "channel 1" has been set up ,but i dont know how to set more than one channels ? is that clear ?

I think the XL is multitimbral, and if it's like the R3 you can set a different midi channel per timbre

you need to set the timbre mode to multi, then set the second timbre's midi channel

thanks Pastor, so im gonna have to do as much as i can on mpc, then record it to cubase and after that rec microkorg to cubase ? is that how u guys doing it ?

I didn't mean the bits from cubase in that other post, I meant the "the microkorg isn't multitimbral" bits. but ignore that, because that's about the original microkorg and you have the XL

just set the Voice mode to MULTI then set T2MIDI.CH to a different midi channel

look in your microkorg's manual under Using the microKORG XL as a multi-timbral sound module



it's not really clear if you're talking about using the microkorg as a midi controller, or sound module, or both
maybe I've misunderstood what you're trying to do and you just need to change the microkorg to use midi channel 2
