Sampling

I have some samples on my cpu that are wav files. When I transfer them to my CF card to load them on to my 2500 some of the bigger files come up with an error stating "wrong file". The CF card is formatted properly. Can you shed some light on this? Does the MPC have a certain size limit on the sample that you can load? Thank you ahead of time for your knowledge

What I have found is this : make sure that the sample is at 44.1 mhz and the bit rate is at 16 and not 24. 16 is the key . Hope this works.

You can load samples at a different sample rate but they will play at the wrong speed, but you must use 16 bit word length or they won't play at all.

I've seemed to have discovered that there's a few flavours of wav. My MPC, if I remember, wouldn't read WAVs created by Ableton, I think it was the same for Bias Peak but it was fine with the ones rinsed through iTunes. They were all 16bit 44.1, so you'd think that if it said .WAV they'd be the same. But WAV was originally a Micro$oft invention, so arseyness with file formats is very much to be expected.

So set up iTunes to import/convert to WAV & batch convert through that, is my tip of the day. Hurrah for Apple Computers Inc.

So your Mac is screwing up your Wav format and making you use iTunes?
