OK I don't know if this should go in bug reports or not. I made the switch from digital outs in favor of multitrack power. My drum mixes were just a mess. My monitors aren't the greatest, and my ears get tired easily, so, by the time I popped a CD of said beat in my car, the hats would KILL you, etc. I've benefited from being able to adjust the levels individually with fresh ears the next day.

My output scheme was this:

1+2= Hats&Cymbals
3+4= Snares
L+R= Kicks & Drops (props to LampDog for the idea)

And, FX worked perfectly on all tracks. However, I ran into another problem in my drum mixdown. Remember Kicks and Drops go int the same channel in my DAW. (My terminolgy for bass drums is "Kicks=Short kicks" and "Drops=Lonnng Kicks" I often use both) If i got the Kicks to thud right, then the Drops would BLOW MY SPEAKERS OUT or clip all over the place. If I get the Drops to hummmm just right the kicks sounded SUPER WEAK. So, I changed my outputs to this:

1+2= Hats&Cymbals
3+4= Snares
L= Kicks
R= Drops

I'm just getting into compression but I know I want to get some sidechain-ducking going on with the Kicks&Drops, and I know there's no need for stereo Kicks or Drops if they're the low thuddy or boomy kind, so this should be perfect, except,

FX Won't work on R and L out when seperated!

At least if they do, I can't find or figure out how. All I have is the two master effects. Kind of counter productive. I need the FX in the MPC because I need to get a pretty close approximate feel for how the drums knock when I start adding instruments.

Anyone else run into this issue? Do FX work on seperated L and R outs with any other OS? I'm afraid this is a dealbreaker right here. My only other requirement in an OS is MIDI Time Code. I'm not doing any fancy sampling over here, just sequencing.

Any ideas? Did I overlook something stupid? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :|

Same thing with os2xl. I'm pretty sure it's a hardware restriction as the stereo effects need to be in stereo. The only suggestions I can think of is re-sample with effects or work it out in your daw.

hmmmm...thanks for the suggestion.. The only effect I need BTW on kicks and drops is EQ.....maybe an outboard.... gotta get it right buddy! My studio is a bottomless money pit.
