im looking to buy an mpc.. either 1000 or 2500. as far as i have read that is what seems to fit me. i have a basic set up. macbook pro, mbox2, m-audio av 40 monitors, bluebird mic, presonus tube pre, m-audio keyrig 49, and an mpd 32

i used my mpd 32 on recycle and reason and i hated the chopping up and using my mouse. so i am looking to getting an mpc. Is there any other equipment i would need for an mpc? and also after i finish a beat on whichever mpc i get can i mix it in protools?

the only difference i know between the 1000 and the 2500 is the size, pad size, and outputs. is there any more that i should be aware of?

You have all the basics. As to differences.. you just gotta compare stock features with google. What one guy likes the other hates. If you jist wanna chop and finish in pt. The 1k will be fine. I would go with 2500 because its not as old.. really only reason. Both get the same end result in your setup.

oh check out the akai pro website for downloading the manual... while the real paper one is nice you can use the search feature in the PDF version.

I think the full 1" x 1" pads are worth it though... not to mention the tilt screen and what not.

good luck, and if you grab that 1000 male sure it has the new version of those pads.

also dont get the akai brand memory if you wind up needing to get the upgrade unless it comes for free.... the 100 bucks or what ever they charge is not worth it for a 2 dollar part.
