Aksys on a Win7 64bit system - please help

he guys,

so I upgraded to a 64 bit system, everything seems to be fine so far but somehow I can´t get Aksys to work, my 4K won´t show up. Installing the driver manually won´t work. Is it even possible to run the program on 64bit?
any suggestions?

No, Akai never made a 64 bit driver,
so you need to install Ak.Sys 2.53 and the MPC4000 USB driver it in Windows 7's "XP Mode" (which runs an entire virtual copy of 32bit Windows XP inside your Windows 7!)

Once you've installed it like that, you can then access Ak.Sys within your normal Windows 7 desktop.

What he said but u should be aware only windows7 ultimate edition as xp mode I believe. If u have onl windows 7 home edition you're buggered I'm afraid and will either have to upgrade windows or run on different computer/partition.

no good results so far tho, I´m not quite sure how to run xp mode. windows message says the problems with the software have been solved but then it won´t let me install the driver/won´t find it.

how exactly has it to be done?

downloading the installer wouldn´t work, the windows on the old computer here isn´t an original copy so the download didn´t proceed, schitt...
