I'm looking for a little help here...I'm trying to track out of my MPC 2500 into Logic 9 using the M-Audio Project Mix I/O as my interface. I am trying to slave the MPC to the Project Mix via MIDI, so that when I hit record on the Project Mix, the MPC starts playing and everything gets recorded in time.

I am very new to both Logic and the Project Mix, and to be honest do not know all the ins and outs of MIDI (I'm batting 1.000 here i know). I use to run PT 7 LE with an Mbox2 as my interface, and was able to do this. I have it set up the same way that I did with PT and the Mbox2, but am not getting anywhere. I've gone through the manuals, but am starting to get a little confused as I'm dealing with 3 separate parties here.

Any help/direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

check it out!
step 1: midi out from your project mix to the in on mpc
step 2: in logic go to project settings/synchronization/midi
step 3: check the transmit midi clock destination 1, pick the project mix
step 3: on mpc MIDI/SYNC active track receive channel to: all

hope this helps brother!

1. You want to slave the MPC to LOGIC, not the Project Mix.

2. You want to set up the ProjectMix to operate Logic's transport controls.

A search of these forums should answer the first part: how to slave an MPC to Logic.

The Projectmix manual should tell you how to assign the transport controls, but Logic has a midi learn function.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses. I did get it to work. Everything works fine using MIDI Clock. I tried it using MTC though to see what happens, and I do not get the same response; when I hit play in Logic, my MPC count-in starts and is sped up, and then it it starts playing my sequence at bar 6 at my set bpm. Just wondering what would make it do this?

Thanks again guys.
