as far as I know, yes. Just keep in mind that even tho the card fits, it is not guaranteed to work.
Its hit or miss, and nobody is liable if you use unspecified or off brand items. I would try to find a Kingston ram card, they got a good rep.

Ok..deep breath..newbie MPC500 owner redirected here due to 500 sharing memory spec with 1000 and others..about to order 256 upgrade non-Akai from amazon, I've checked the spec (gulp) and think this is the one for me from the UK, just after some re-assurance from you experienced upgrade types

It burnt out my SD card in my MPC 1000 after 3 uses.

Hi all, new MPC owner, thought I'd make my first post a helpful one

Just picked up a Dane-Elec DA-CF-2048-R Compact Flash Card - Type I, 2GB from tigerdirect here.

Formatted in the MPC 500 and copied files over, she's working great. They have larger capacity drives of the same brand/type. I'm guessing they'll work too.

EDIT: It sure isn't the fastest card out there lol.

After my experience with the non-working 3rd party RAM (which I've sent back for refund) on Ill's advice I searched eBay, and ended going with cheap-ish official RAM for £29, dispatched quickly, arrived a few days later, tested last night and it works a treat in my MPC500.

I have just ordered a Transcend 4GB CompactFlash CF MLC 133x, will check it myself and report here. Would then be nice if a moderator could add this info to the first posting so it is easy to find.

I've just tried it with my new Transcend 8GB CF-Card (TS8GCF133) and it works fine. I've put 5gigs on it and there's no problem.

Formated under JJOS1 4.99L and my PC tells me the card runs in FAT32.
