AKM files not loading

We have an Mpc that will not load akm files. It will load samples, seq, and programs but no akm files. Has anyone ever seen this before? Thanks.

Possibly your OS revision is not up to date? Not all .AKM's from later OS's are backwards compatable...

Sorry the OS is 1.71.

well, either your OS 1.71 is corrupt (unlikely, otherwise the MPC probably would not boot up in the first place - however it is worth re-installing the OS),
or the .AKM files are corrupt (more likely, if they are from a 3rd party)

Can you save a Multi from your own MPC4000 onto its own hard drive, and then load that back up?

Thanks for your time. The OS has been re-installed and the files are from the original cd. And no t will not load multis that I saved on the hard drive, but will load programs/sampes/seqences etc.

that is a bizarre scenario previously unknown to science. I can't think of anything to suggest, other than you must be doing some really simple thing completely wrong
