Has anyone gone back to an MPC from MASCHINE?

If so, why!? I am debating selling my Maschine and getting a 2500. I used one for a few weeks before and I loved it. Maschine has been good, but I don't trust it at all. It shuts off randomly, it's slow, it freezes...


I don't want to hear that the MP was "grittier" so you went back. I just want to know if anyone has had any issues like this, or some I should look for.

what else is there to say? The maschine can do about the same as the mpc. Plus the MPC is more 'gritty' and that's more than enough for some people to switch. Like Pound said what are you trying to accomplish.

Maschine only works when paired with a nice soundcard and computer. I never forfeit the mpc, but I did try maschine. I only use maschine to control traktor these days. Honestly though Im considering an sp 404. My mate has one and it's a righteous little machine. The simplistic nature of it is appealing to me. Just do what feels right. Either way, you either invest in your computer to make maschine work or invest in an mpc. It's on you, you can't really listen to us because we are only fragmented pieces of your imagination.

HAH! dude has this place's number. he might not be givin em enough credit, but he's at least 75% on target. oh you mad because...

man just pick something and stick with it. no comparable gear* these days is prohibitive of any style or sound, unless the bugs/support is so bad you can't **** with it. be it daw or plugin or hardware, try to find a company that communicates with its userbase, develops in-house (as opposed to hiring software companies), updates frequently and responds to bug reports.

DONT buy something based on a youtube video. and that's real.

* no i'm not sayin you can (easily) write a filmscore or anything super complex on an sp404

maschine is one of the most stable pieces of software i've ever used, i don't recall having a single crash ever. perhaps the problem is in your computer?

+1 for "CD quality"
My 2500 is mad clean and quiet compared to other 16 bit samplers I've had.

+1 too. It's a transparent machine. Nice box if it's your main machine and you want some high ranges in your tracks too It's pretty hard with only 3k or 2k if you don't own an external mixer or if you don't have a DAW where you mix the tracks. Of course you can sample sounds from dj mixer with no bass but then you have no options if you want to adjust the low end of that particular sound later on when mixing the track.
