MPC not turning on

Word. Just bought an MPC500 off this guy on the internet. Came with full warranty, box and manuals and looks in pretty good shape. Worked well for a couple of days but it's not turning on anymore. When I say "not turning on" i mean No text coming up, no light, nada. Just a blank screen. I am gutted and can't work out why. The problem isn't the power supply cause I've attached batteries.

Before I think about sending it in to get fixed, does anyone have any experience with this problem?
