Looping, alt looping and crossfade looping on NDC chops.

Some quality suggestions here. 8)

I wish JJ would make the active project folder the default saving folder.

At the minute if you hit save it takes you to whatever folder you've been browsing, so you have to hit load to navigate back to your project folder, then hit save again.

* In non-destructive-chop mode:

1) a "Divide" and "Combine" Button for Auto-Chop like in "normal" Chop-Mode? (in auto-chop-mode there are no overlapping areas, so this should be possible)
2) i miss a "extract" function to safe a non-destructive chop as individual sample

* in Program-Mode a offset for sample start/end-point would be nice.

* also in program mode: a "loop-endless" option: the sample starts to play when you hit the pad und then loops until you hit the same pad again. (Like the SP 404 does); this option could be in the ONE SHOT/NOTE ON - Menu. (ONE SHOT/NOTE ON/ENDLESS, or something like that.)

* a shortcut to enable/disable the metronome from main screen would be helpfull.

* make the arpeggiator more powerful (different pattern to choose from)

* multitimbrality (!!!)

*no more remembering file-names in save-screen

I know I have quantize off by pressing the note repeat button in the main screen when I see the Fkey are all empty (no black background) but yeah it would be cool if it was directly written on the F2 tab.

My feature request for 2011 is the ability of playing a sequence in LOAD mode. It would be great for my workflow.

yup, by soft button i mean fkey. i call it soft button cause depending on what screen you are on, it changes.

1. Non-Destructive Stereo to Mono Sample - I'd like to see this in program mode similar to the way the non-destructive sample reverse was added.

so you mean like a preview of the sample in mono without having to actually edit it to mono? right?
B.A. wrote:2. Preview of Normalize - I don't usually normalize samples but I had to this past weekend and unless I missed it I didn't see a preview feature before commiting to the normalize % function. If there is one please someone let me know and if there isn't there needs to be one because I had to redo it a few times because it was either way to loud or to quiet.

I absolutely agree. in fact, i think all editing options in trim mode should have a preview, overwrite, and cancel (normalize, stereo to mono, etc.)
B.A. wrote:When I sold my mpc 1k a few months ago I got a MV-8800, I had it for a few weeks and decided to go with a 2500 with JJ instead. There were a couple cool features that I liked though...

3. Adjustable Full Level - Instead of always being set at 127 you can press SHIFT and FULL LEVEL and a menu pops up where you can adjust the constant velocity to be anywhere from 1 to 127; it's especially handy when the tone of sound is dependent on the velocity (you may not always want it full blast).

so you thinking of adjusting the velocity levels by exact value like 1 - 127 instead of by percentage? not sure i understand what you mean?

B.A. wrote:4. Individual panning per pad within same track - I would also like to see this in program mode right along with non-destructive stereo to mono sample. For example if you had all your drums on the same track panned the way you wanted you could just use the main track volume as a sub-mix volume and adjust the volume of all your drums at once. It wound definitaly be useful for me.

5. Project selection at startup - At the startup screen it would be useful if instead of loading up you autoload folder or just the default sequence you could choose what project to load.

Just a few, I'll think of some more

definately could be useful

I mean that in program mode just like you can change a sample to from forward to reverse you could change it from stereo to mono, so yeah you could preview it and leave it mono if you want and if you change your mind later just set it back to stereo, it would be non destructive and work just like the sample reverse feature. Mono samples would ofcourse not be affected by this feature.

It doesnt' have to be in the place of the velocity % on the main screen but just in addition to it. I'm sure it's not totally necessary but after having used this feature on the Roland MV-8800 it was a good option to have and the feature doesn't seem like it would be that hard to work in. Samples or programs (or sounds from external keyboards or racks controlled by midi) are sometimes created to have filters, lfos, layers, etc. that trigger at a certain velocity so being able to set a specific velocity when you use the full level would be helpful.

Hell yeah, I think that's on everyones list but from what I've heard the only mpcs capable of this are the 4k and 5k unless JJ can pull something out his ass to make this feature work on the 1k and 2500. If it can be done I'm sure JJ will figure it out... for a small fee ofcourse :D

from what i understand preview SEQ in load/save mode is off the table
you'd have to get it into RAM (and all the sounds) before you could preview it
and at that point it's loaded anyhow. these aren't computers we're dealing with. sooty said it just a second ago, these are CELL PHONE CPUs we're talking about, like...entry level verizon comes-free-with-the-shit phone.

Music Production Cellphone

try to request small things that would be A, easy to implement and B, wouldn't change the underlying architecture dramatically. i realize this comes from the guy whose first request was "multitimbral" but dayum

"record tempo change (this should be in XL, i reported it the other day and murai said it was a bug. wtf is wrong with yall, do none of you record tempo changes?)"

Often i slave my Mp when sequencing, so I didn't notice this was missing. I need tempo change... Hopefully this is a quick fix bug.

I've mentioned it before, but I would love to see a TAP button feature in Loop Edit mode. This would allow you to enter samples with the pads on the grid, or tap them in in real time making the Mp opperate like a true groove machine or old school TR sequencer.

Also, the return of Tune option in the arpeggio style editing windows. Just nit picking now though.

All love to JJ. Murria included. And merry Christmas you beautiful bastards. At this point, any additions are gravy. And I love gravy...

Scatt man: I see you. Are you scared of this place? What did happen in room 237?

what do you think about that:

Instead of just being able to choose from "Poly" or "mono" in PGM-Screen (Amp->Voice), there should be a "Max-Voices" option to determine the number of voices the Sample can use.
This would be very helpful for drum-pgms so for example cymbals wont sound like being cut of (when you set them to Mono) neither eat up all the voice-capacity.
