Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

It's a good deal.
I would get on with making some beats before you think of upgrading anything.

If you have a sound source ( record player, CD player, tape, computer etc) and a cable to link them, then you have all you need to start work.
Monitor through your HiFi or headphones to start with and your good to go.

If you don't have a manual, download it from akaipro and read it carefully.
If you still need pointers, consider buying the e-book advertised on this very site. It's very informative and will help you out loads. It's made for the XL version but is still good for the classic 2000, albeit that you will be without a few features.

After that, If you are still puzzled by anything, ask questions here. But, Helping your self pays dividends.

which OS version do you have? you ca see the version number when you load the OS in the machine
the latest OS version for the 2000 is 1.72
correct me if i'm wrong
