Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

hey everyone i have a mpc 2500 hooked up to a motif xs rack.the midi in from the motif is plugged into the midi out a on the mpc and i am able to sequence sounds.but now i want to hook up my mpk 49 keyboard and play the sounds of the motif and sequence them into the mpc can anybody help me out.

run another MIDI cable = MPK's MIDI OUT to MPC's MIDI IN.

on the MPC: switch the track you're working on from DRUM to MIDI... then in the far right of the screen, select the MIDI output and channel you want to send the keyboard/MPC combo's MIDI signal to [for example: A1 if your motif is going into MIDI OUT A and you want to send to channel 1]

and then you also need to have the audio outs from the motif going into the audio in of the mpc.. if all your gear is powered-on, MIDI'd-up & audio cables properly connected, then this should work...

hey mate i have it hooked up like u said.midi out of mpk to midi in on mpc.the track is setup for midi but when i put it on midi channel 1a on my mpc its the motif sounds but they not playing through the keyboard.has it got any thing to do with soft thru maybe.

well honestly as soon as i turn the midi channel to 1a on the mpc the sounds are playing through the pads so i havent really had them set a certain way.i really need help though.

i actually heard that if you dont have the power adaptor plugged in and you are using the usb for the mpk49 that the midi out will not work.thats some bullshit
