How to sync the mp with reaper ?

I basically want it for recording (hit the record button of reaper so the mpc starts playing automatically).I tried to mess around with the settings but no luck so far.

do it the other way around. right click the play button in reaper's transport, then set up Reaper to play off MTC sync. then make sure your mpc is outputting mtc sync (i use 30 frmrt)

first second of your reaper audio will not play as it chases the mtc signal. however, recording like this is great, cannot believe how much time it saves me as opposed to not using any sync and manually hooking it back up in DAW.

I have the midi out A of the mp going into midi in of my soundcard.
How can i be sure that my mpc is outputting mtc sync?
I have the last akai os and the 2.031 version of reaper.
In Nuendo it was very simple to do this but with reaper i dont know.

So i cant sync the mpc to reaper , unless i have the jj os??Thats wack.

yup, akai crippled the mpc1000's os development in hopes that customers would become repeat offenders and buy higher models...for features that have been integrated in the jj os. consider making the 1000 your last akai purchase.

I can assure you this was my last akai purchase ,for sure.

In Reaper, go to OPTIONS > PREFERENCES > MIDI > and RIGHT CLICK on the midi port you want to use to send a midi clock signal to your mpc. Click ENABLE OUTPUT.

Make sure your mpc1000 is set to recieve sync on the appropriate input. You can do this with the crappy Akai OS or the JJ OS.

This will send a midi clock signal from Reaper to your mpc1000 so you can have them run in sync while you record in Reaper.

I do highly recommend you getting rid of that crappy Akai OS and getting the JJ OS. The difference in the ease of workflow is night and day.

I got it the other way - when I hit rec on the mpc reaper starts recording. I sync it trough MTC in JJ OS - highly recommended!

Edit : sorry I just see Nym already answered this. Check the Reaper manual on pages 317 - 319

He can't use MTC because he is still on the crappy Akai OS. So I gave him instructions for using midi clock.

The crappy Akai OS does use midi clock very well.

hey what up yall. i just got reaper cuz all the good things i hear & it seems user friendly like cakewalk. any tips i should know? i am hooking it up to a pc with standard sound card & mpc 1k jjos. i have a channel board too i just want to use for the vocals since the mic is a condenser it has phantom power. but sould i hook the mp1k into channel board & mix, or just mix in the mpc 1k which i do like.... im setting my studio up now, so any good feedback from yall audio experts is much appreciated... thank you
