can communicate clearly and effectively. That's important.

true...alls im saying it's bad to point fingers like that wihtout knowing person and what went on in their life

from personal experience out of high school had to get a job, at one point I was supporting both moms and fiance, pulling 10-16hr days of physical labor..every time I wanna get back to college some other shit comes with higher priority..

I thought hip hop culture was supposed to be more understanding of its surroundings as we all come from different places and backgrounds.

I'd just like to bring this back on topic .. grammar aside, does anyone have a **** clue what the OP was talking about?

I've kinda got used to his **** abysmal grammar, but I still can't understand him

...
you should probably only have one sequencer, which controls all your instruments, otherwise you'll have timing issues

but a tascam recorder is not a sequencer, it just records. use something else as a sequencer to control your gear, and record that on the recorder

ok lets do this why dont someone explan the functions of sequencer
beacuse i read on wiki music sequencer .. and one the features is multitrack audio....
(As the technology matured, sequencers gained more features, including the ability to record multitrack audio)

and hmm lets see tascam is multitrack and it recs. multitracks audio.
the tascam can also read smf files.

many cards these days include a cup holder, that doesn't mean every cup holder is a car.

just because some sequencers added multitrack audio recording, doesn't mean everything that does multitrack recording is a sequencer

a sequencer controls instruments, telling them when and what to play. your tascam doesn't do that.

the term "sequencer" and "midi" are very tightly linked. As in, almost all sequencers simply record and play back MIDI data...in the 70s / 80s a sequencer was more likely to transmit control voltages.

Very few 'sequencers' have anything at all to do with audio. Even in the case of a device that does both multi-track recording and sequencing, I would refer to the sequencer inside it as a separate entity...for example Logic is a DAW that includes both a sequencer and a multi-track audio recorder...they are not the same thing.

The reference you make to the wiki article is evidenced strongly in terms of the MPC series.

"MPC" originally stood for "MIDI Production Center". The MPC was designed and sold as a sequencer, that had the addition of very basic sampling. As time progressed, and the consumer market opened up, MIDI sequencing has fallen out of favor and audio-recording / multi-tracking has become more popular. Hence, today the MPCs actually have LESS MIDI sequencing features and more audio recording features.

The Tascam, however, is and always has been a multi-track recorder.

Wow. You taking this guy up on his grammar? Really? ;)

Wow, you have a life? Really?

Why yes. Yes I do. And it doesn't involve taking people up on their grammar whilst using double negatives.

ok lets get back to the qustion 1st of all. what is so hard to understand the qustion im asking?

I'm asking for opions on how i shoud rec my tracks how do yall rec tracks.

for example lets take a guitar player if a guitar player hook there guitar into
your computer interface or hardware input ex. my tascam. and rec few licks
would that be a live recording???

basicley my qustion is how many people do live rec? than mix down
and who all here work on seq on there keyboards or drum machines
ex. (roland fantom yamaha motif or mpc.) than output it to the computer or hardware for mix down??

just really wanted some opions i was thinking of doing each track live.

Well you are best off recording all MIDI parts first as they won't suffer from timing issues.

Then overdub your live tracks.

You say you are bored waiting for it to track one by one. Well, it will be a pain in the arse to track live and then try and fit your MIDI around it.

If you really want to track the live elements first, then record to a click track (which you can lay down in your Tascam). Then, you can replace the click with drums. Mono, stereo, multi-tracked. Whatever you prefer.
