My mpc is only a few months old, the last couple weeks i've been turning it on and it won't recognize the RAM (I have 2x16MB) it will give me the default 2mb built in. After i turn it on and off a few times, plug it out and back in it seems to recognize the RAM or at least 1 of the slots. Does anybody know why its doing this? is my RAM phucked up?

Try opening it up and making sure they are pushed in all the way. If they're in right you might need different ones.

yeah the ram is jiglled a bit and its not recognizing it all the time.

i was aving problems with this. also when the ram was being recognized and id be playing the pads, sometimes the mpc would start doing this crazy staticky distorting squeals that actually sounded pretty great.

the fix?

i lifted the front of the mpc and gave a soft rap with my knuckles to the underside (right underneath where the ram is). problem solved (for the moment anyway)

yeah same problem the sounds would distort if it didn't recognize both sticks of RAM, i'll try pushing them in further thanx
