Hey,

I've recorded a very sime sample, which is a vocal bit of speech from a film. Ive created new start and end positions and extracted the sample and assigned it to a pad. I've also extracted another bit of the original sample and assigned this to another pad in the program.
When I hit the pads to play them back the sample works fine, however randomly the samples sound like Turriff going through a filter effect, similar to when two sounds clash and won't play together and make THAT sound, if you know what I mean.

It's odd, iv recorded the samples into a beat and randomly on playback it does this. Sometimes they sound fine as the beat plays through then sometimes they sound odd.

Does anyone know what this may be or if they've had similar issues please? It's not this particular sample as iv noticed it happen before but thought nothing of it. I want to find out basically if the 5000 does this and I'll put up with it or if it's my machine playing up.

Ok, cheers, hip hop ears.

Maybe your reusing a factory program? You know, programs defiled by Akai to make your life miserable.

Come again?

I saved the sample into 'program 1', the blank program that is there on start up - even with autoload disabled. If this is what you mean should try and create a new program to save my samples into each time? If so, how do you create a program, is it similar to creating a new folder?

Cheers, hip hop ears.
