That, and there's a handful of other parts you can use also...knobs buttons etc.

The seller Matt is a cool dude and has sold a handful of backlights to members here, but shimmy- are you looking for a backlight or a screen itself?

Hey Guys
Thanks for all the effort in replies.Yeah Mpc stuff says out of stock and they emailed me that they are not gonna have it anymore. And yes its the actual screen not the backlight.
@MPCHunter:wooow thats sounds like the plan,do U know if its super difficult to make the s1000>3k screen transplant?Cause I might do just that. Was considering getting that monitor vga card, but would prefer to stick to the mp as opposed to some external display.
Thanks again for the tips!

On a S1000, the connector on the LCD that connects to the ribbon cable is sized a little bit different than the one on the MPC 3000. So, you'll have to swap the connectors by desoldering them. Shouldn't take anyone that has soldering experience more than 10 - 15 minutes to do so. If you can't do it yourself, perhaps there is someone that lives near you that can do this for you. It is important to get the cable orientation right -- so make sure that the connector is facing the proper way when you replace it.

I'm not 100% sure but the LCD for the S3000XL may have the same mating connector that the MPC 3000 uses. Can anyone confirm this?

Also, as b.read suggested, there are other useful parts inside a S1000 sampler that will make good spares for your MPC 3000. You should keep the backlight foil if it is in good shape, the inverter for the LCD, knobs, disk drive, etc. You may even be able to reduce your out of pocket expenses by selling the RAM and any expansion boards if they are installed.

What is broken on the screen?

Is the screen itself working, but the backlight is not working?

I actually won that same MPC3000 on ebay, but when I realised that it was the screen that was broken (rather than the backlight) I decided to contact the seller and he agreed to cancel the transaction before I paid.

I did see that he relisted it afterwards.

Got me a MPC3000 LE #0138 instead weeks later...

Chuffed!!

Oh man
I actually felt so guilty buying that mpc.I already have a 2500 and around the time of bidding I was quite broke, but only because it was so cheap and to have a 3k was a dream since a long while,I had to do it.The screen is literally broken in many places. But thanks to MPCHunter's tip I will turn into mp surgeon for a lil transplant.Woow LE?Shhhh must have costed U a lil bit.

To all Forum guys:
I will be at my uni on friday and the technician from my music department wanted to clear some unused stuff.Im sure he s had like 10 s1000 so if anybody's interested I can hook U up with it really CHEAP.I think its even worth the purchase for the screen.I ll make a list of gear too.I remember he has Soundtracs Topaz 8 mixing desks 24ch for like 400pounds.

Peace
