MOTU interfaces with Logic?

Ok.TRy this.Sound card off.Open logic.Choose audio track.And now turn on souncard.A box will come up giving you the chance to switch to the motu.Choose the motu and in the left hand channel strip under i/o choose your input channels.ie 1-2.You might have to change to stereo.Press the recordswitch.it will come on red.Now while changing the gain on the cue mix or soundcard find the right level.Start recording the audio...........Done .(become familiar with the bounce functions,very usefull)

^ tried just that.... no luck


1) I see the audio in CueMix, I can hear it through my speakers now...

2) I setup an "Audio" track in Logic.... set it up accordingly...



3) the volume level on the 828 is at its highest

I still can't see anything in the channel strip in Logic?


when they do it on YouTube its the same + they can see the audio and record

Ok dont worry about the "audio devices,its the same as mine although i have main out 1-2 rather than analog!!!In the audio track of logic make sure the R button is *red.*........and that the motu is chosen in preferences(under audio.)there i also choose software monitoring off.Make sure you are choosing the proper channel to record (ie 1-2,3-4 ect)You really should be recording now.Theres not much else to do except go over these points.

one thing that confuses most people with motu 828 interfaces is the correct names of the channels.
the two mic pres at the front are analog 1 and 2 in logic and the analog ins 1-8 on the back of the motu are analog 3-10 in logic.
also make sure that the master fader of the mixbus you are using in cuemix is up and not muted.

the routing possibilities in the interface and in cue mix are confusing at first, but can be very handy if you use it.

edit: just looked at your first two posts again - you normaly don´t need the audio preferences in osx or the audio midi setup to use the motu interface. just make sure the drivers are installed and the interface shows up in logic. cuemix is also only there to make it easier to operate the motu interface. you can do all settigs on the interface itself.
i hope you have at least a little understanding of the basic midi principles, or else we might see you again very soon when you try to get your midi timepiece going...

after changing the Input from 1-2 to 3-4.... I can finally see the audio jumping in Logic


now onto the next problem... syncing it up perfectly...
