Hi to all,

I am a resident in London, UK who recently purchased an AEUDMD4 from the Addonics camp online who thought that the product i bought would work with the MPC 2000XL. ???

I tried fitting the cf reader but I could not get MPC to recognize the reader. What am I doing wrong? :?

Green light comes on but nothing happens when I put a card in the slot.

Could some one please point me in the right direction cos all I wana do is make beats and be HAPPY! :(

I will appreciate any help in links, brands and how to go about hooking it up.

Can anyone tell me if this is what i need?

Ps. After I fitted the AEUDMD4 my MPC AND floppy would not work!! So I disconnected floppy and all works well.

Thanks guys. :)

Well, it is proving to be pretty difficult to me right now. I mean I bought the drive thinking it would be a simple enough fitting but, obviously not.

Is this some thing you can help me with? Or are you trying yourself to no avail?

OK guys this is the one I have got that I am trying to install in my 2KXL.

Anyway, the struggle continues.

Peace!

Lets put it this way, I have an internal Iomega 100MB and I still would prefer the cf reader.
I guess it's a case of prevention is better than cure?

Personally I think the cf is better than a zip for reliability.

Hope that answers your question. However if in doubt you can always do what I am doing which is searching the site for info. Though I have to say alot of heads are screaming up about the cf being better than the zip.

Other than that it all boils down to personal preference eh?

Good luck!

Blackcave stop posting this everywhere...
keep your self in one topic...
dont post it everywhere....

These are the specs you should be looking for:

IDE Interface Type 40-way (2.54mm) IDE
Connection Method Direct Insertion into any 40-way IDE Connector
Device Support CF (Type I & II)
Device Supply Voltage +3.3V or +5V
Mode Selection Master or Slave Mode
Input Power Source (+5V) OD Connector (4-Pln) or IDE connector (Pin20)

Also this post has many infos...
viewtopic.php?f=1&t=102551&hilit=card+reader

instead of waiting someone to tell you everything
start searching yourself!
And dont go to every topic subject to card reader and make a post.
Read and learn!

Yeah thanks Korni.

Look I ain't no hurry and come up into this just becos you may see I just joined! So when i see you telling me to search before asking and all dat bs...I done my research as i do before I even come up on here.

It's not the first time i've had issues i couldn't solve with my MPC but I manage to rummage thru and resolve it for myself without the help of anyone. So you are so wrong I am not as you put it waiting someone to tell me everything, i done my research and get nothing much that relates to what i want to know.

As far as posting everywhere OK my bad but, spare me the condensation OK!!!? You do yours and i'll do mine... Anyway thanks again for the info that i already have!! ???

I dont know exactly how to help you
but the question I saw was if it is going to work
thats why I promped you to see the specs and search other topics.

For your problem I aint no good...

Just one tip!
Never open the MPC with no card or no floppy in it!

And make sure again for your connections!

People yet are on vacations I guess
just wait if someone will help you out

peace
