I sold my 3000, which I kind of regret right now, I found a MPC60 for the L-O

How do I get sounds onto the 60? Do I have to sample the sounds or can I use my old MPC3000 ZIP disks? I noticed that the MPC 60 has a SCSI port and I want to be able to load samples onto the 60 once I get it, do I have to use a program like RS-16X? or do I have to manually sample drums from records and whatnot? IF someone could let me know what I have to do to be able to load samples onto the 60 it would be greatly appreciated...Thanks

as long as the 60 is running os version 3.10 you shouldnt lose anything in translation as far as sounds and sequences go when loading your mpc3000 disks (so long as you have a working scsi zip drive for the 60 obviously). As far as sampling drums off of records, not to sound rude or anything but to me, it's pointless to use a 12 bit monster like the 60 if you're just gonna pre-load sounds into it... sampling into it is what gives the sounds their flavor. hope this helped

I thought you could go 60 to 3000, but not 3000 to 60

anyway, just sample into it..don't be a sucker

well how did you sample into the 3000? maybe check out the manual.

You have a sampler, why not use it's key feature.... sampling.

especially with the 60 of all things.

oh, so you didn't sample at all with your samplers? that kind of seems redundant.... but hey, everyone has their fastest workflows.
