How to replace the right track with the left one

At first: Hi together!

My needle records a lot better on the left side than on the other one. Because of that, I decided to just record the left track of my vinyls to my MPC. After that I want to copy the track to the right side. I'm good with the mono-sound, but of course I wanna hear it with both ears

I know that I did this before on my MPC 1000, but I don't remember how and I didn't find it on the manual. Maybe I did it right after recording (before saving the sample) but if thats the case, there should be also a way to do that afterwards and I don't want to dig all the stuff again.

there's no point having a stereo sample with the same sound in both channels - that just wastes sample memory

just make it a mono sample, and it'll be played in both channels

Nah, not in the MPC... I don't think. But here's what I'd do if I were you...

Connect your MPC to your PC via USB. Take all those samples that are missing the right channel and drag the WAV files over from your MPC to your PC Desktop. Now open them up with Audacity (if you don't already have it, go get it) and "Split the Stereo Track to Mono". You'll now hear that left channel coming out both the Left AND Right. Delete that empty track on the bottom... now export your edited sample as a WAV... and then drag it back to your MPC.

Next time, sample your records with the MPC set to "Mode: MONO L" when recording.

it is possible with jjos2xl. it trim mode you can turn your stereo sample to a mono sample.

I'll upgrade to jjos when I'm getting better with the MPC. Still too much confusing settings yet
I solved the problem with Audacity. Ps: Stickyrickys way works well, but i prefer to choose "stereo in mono-channels" on the track and deleting the second channel.
The difference is, that the other way of doing it calculates the two channels together and divides loudness by two. The other way doesn't change anything on the channel at all.
