So, can someone enlighten me as to why multitimbrality is exciting for the MPC? I've always been able to play more than one type of sound at a time... I know I'm missing something here.

I test again, this time in the video.

I made a comment and a vote, ending it with a negative.
even so, I understand your great efforts.
Happy 2011 to you.

regarding your youtube message:

129 programs is an increase (on os 1,2 and xl it is currently 99 programs , only after jj did this in os 1 akai increased its max number of pgms from 24 to 128)

- 0:36 min : STEO - This stands for stereo , the field is only 4 letters long. ST might look better

- 0:52 min : he maybe needs a new data wheel

2.20 : is a typo - jj is japanese.

2:45" the sound level bar is mounted above the number / value? " :
a small graphic thing, the mpc doesnt have many pixels - when it shows 3 digits the bar is above the number.

these seems really minor things to give the guy negative feedback for!

There's always naysayers in the crowd, but in Jandpoint's defense he does find the most bugs out of anyone here, and as long as they're properly reported to JJ it can only benefit the community as a whole. If Jandpoint is really that disgusted with the JJOS, there's a million other options out there for him/ her to choose from.

Back on topic: I haven't been this excited for an update in awhile. Incredible, simply incredible.

That's what the f*ck I'm talking about! Back in August I sold my 1k with OS2XL (I loved that thing but I wanted to upgrade) and I was debating between getting a 4k or a Roland MV-8800, I ended up choosing the MV-8800 because I wanted to see what Roland had to offer since I was already familiar with mpcs. About a month later I sold the MV-8800 (the workflow wasn't for me) and instead of a 4k I got a 2500 with JJ OS2XL because I knew that support for the 4k ended a long time ago and that JJ is always trying to find ways to improve the 1k and 2500 and he REALLY listens to feature requests and bug reports (no one else really does). So today, after hearing the new about the new features, I am very happy that I stuck with JJ and got a 2500.

A few features that I (as well as other people) requested were implemented...

1. Adjustable Full Level (feature from MV that I really found useful)
2. Non-Destructive Stereo to Mono of samples
3. At about the 1:50 minute mark in the video, on the left next to the pad # and level it looks like it says pan. If what I'm seeing is individual panning per pad within the same track then I am extremely happy. Can anyone confirm this?

The only feature that I requested that didn't make it is the normalize preview in trim mode, but that's not as useful as the ones he did add. What does JJ mean by "In addition, the beta version of MPC2500 is not released.", does this mean that the os update is only going to be available for the 1k and not the 2500? I hope not, that would be a big let down. I have to agree with the title of this thread, JJ is the man, I can't say enough about what he's done, I got mad love for you J! Can't wait for this update...

my guess is that the beta is for the 1000 only, we 1000 owners get to hunt down all the bugs, and then once it is stable it will be released officially for the 1000 AND the 2500.

each pad has individual pan anyway ....just not when you overide the pgm with the track mixer. Is this what you mean , track level control.. but keeping pgm control of pan?
