Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hi I have been using my MPC2000 with no problems at all. and lovin it!

After recent turn on and loading my samples to the pads the playback as
a distorted sound to it like a bad crackle, Even worse when i sample something!?:(

Really unhappy about this. I have a theory that my studio pal sent a really high signal in , maybe even into the wrong input and has blown something. (though he denies everything!)?

thanks for any help!
i can make a soundfile in the new year if this will help to work out whats going wrong.

everything works perfect except for this weird distortion!
Have I maybe changed a setting or is it hardware problem?!

Thanks!!!!

Hi thanks! (he'll be pleased if its the ram lol!)
is it an easy operation to take them out and clean?
is there any vid or picture tutorial on how i proceed?

also is there anything to stop the problem reoccuring?
my studio was quite cold when i moved in and maybe some dampness is this possible to effect the ram?. its cosier now i have heating!
thanks again!!

I am not guaranteeing it's the RAM, but it's the first place to start because of how easy it is.

(viewtopic.php?f=1&t=138730 - front page "RAM problem").

No, you cannot stop the process from reoccurring, all systems especially mechanical will break down at some point.
