Roland G8 to MPC 4000 ?

This my first post so thank you for having me.
The ? is basic so i will be very detail.
I have a mpc 4000 and a roland g8, would like to use the the MP as the master and play and record the roland sounds into the mp.
I wanna use the mp clock i perfer to track my beats on the mp rather the g8

I need help with the set up with the midi cords and with the settings inside the mp and roland

G8 midi to MPC midi in
MPC midi out to G8 in ..i logically assume the G8 will be both contriller and sound module

Tricky part
MISC page> sync> sync out
MIDI clock set -to on
Send to MMC -set to on

Main Page TRK section
type chane DRUM to INST

OUT 1 to out A where G8 is the source Part should show device 1

Sequence section
to control G8 sequencer turn SYNC on

I set this up with Reason and MPC 4000. I took me a while to get it but i got it. Hope this help since i don't see anyone else helping.

I want to control everything from The MPC,I perfer the timing and clock better.But I will try what you say

remember I just wanna play the sounds into my MPC

Thats ill...do you know how I can sequence in a Motif XS instead of sequencing the motif into the MPC...basically I want to make scenes on the Motif and still make the drums on the MPC.

Motif would have to be master MPC Slave

Thing about the MPC 4000 and other MPC for example is the sequencer is one of the best around. The resolution is 960ppn. Most wokrstation sequecer are 480. any addition equipment i add to set will run Thru the MPC
