sound & sound knob busted...

the sound went out... only working if I apply pressure to the knob, pushing it forward, etc..

after a day or two only one side could be heard when applying pressure, day three I couldn't even mess with it

what should I do about this

You know the answer.

Pay for a repair, thats how it goes with hardware.

is this considered an easier fix?

Depends on your soldering skill. If the audio cuts in and out when you mess with the knob its most likely a rotary encoder, not the most difficult thing in the world to change.

Cheap repair, look after her otherwise you don't deserve her!
