electronica / idm / 2step : anyone producing it on mpc?!

I'm just curious... is there someone here producing electronica/idm/2step with the mpc 5000?

I know most of you produce hiphop so I'd like to know who's using the mpc to make the same genre I do, it could be interesting to share some tips!

I am trying to use it to make (detroit-ish) techno.
Allthough the simplicity attracts, I do find it generally easier to play around with software to make my sounds (except for the Rhytms for which the MPC suits just fine)
But maybe it's because I can't 'play' melodies very well but have to 'puzzle' them together which just goes faster in DAW (moving notes around, setting a loop differently, using another sound/sample etc)
