I would think you could have always done this with a midi track.

yeah, only if you wanted to play 1 string! i read this a while back, someone was trying play a midi guitar with their 1000/2500 jjos and couldn't cuz you need multiple channels of midi on which to send pitch bend data.

The sequencer slowdowns still exist, especially in trim mode, but no worse than XL 1.47.

would be dope if jj added mono with vocal cancel

is it possible to layer more than one sample in INSTRument programs on JJOS to
have multiple velocity layers like in older AKAI samplers for more realistic instruments....guess not?

Sooty_G> Thanks for your answer. It totally makes sense. Pretty dope way to manage polyphony issue then :)

Nope. You can layer samples, but velocity crossfading/cross-switching isn't possible.

Any Akai rack sampler from S3000 up can have up to
4 velocity crossfade layers on one note... but maybe
even earlier than S3000 models i am not sure,
anyone could clarified that?

crothers wrote:could someone test for me this:
for the multitimbral pitch bend (awesome) are the independent per-track ranges a global feature, or per-project? ie, do multiple projects load different pitch bend ranges?

if you check jj's video it seems like you can put data in the track to set the pitch bend range using rpn messages. its on this page too:
http://www7a.biglobe.ne.jp/~mpc1000/os2xl_20/p_bend.htm
so in that respect you should be able to have different pitch bend set ups per sequence. (or maybe even change them mid sequence i suppose)

if you follow the rpn messages with a data value of 8 it would give a pitch bend range of 8 semitones for that track

I can find posts that are almost a year old about me complaining about simult/mutes... you cant mute a sample and simult another ....for example I have 2 kick drums that are both layered ...I want 1 kick to cut off the other kick...but because they are both simulted the mute option is not there .

now .. I know for a fact my mpc 2000xl can do that ... I m not sure why its such a hard thing to accomplish with jj.. I mean we can hook up a midi guitar and used different midi channels for different tracks ... agreed thats insane ....but something more practical like mute/simult would I think help out a lot of people ...again WHO IS WITH ME ON THIS? I v honestly put in a bunch of requests to jj ...and posted here a number of times ...it seems jj is gearing updates towards more live performance . I m fine with that as long as I get simult /mute working properly the machine would be perfect in my eyes .

sorry for rambling if he already put this in a newer os I m not aware of ....but as it stands I cant mute and simult at the same time.....something so simple that you could do on an mpc 2000 10 years ago you cant do now ... so if anyone other then me feels this way lets encourage jj to look at something as simple as that .. then yall can go back to requesting features like "can you make it so open window/f6 brings up my twitter feed" thanks.
