have you tried simulting a pad to another pad, and then using that simulted pad to mute the pad you're trying to mute?

so instead of pad A01 simult pad B01 && pad A01 mute pad A02

you could do pad A01 simult pad B01 && pad B01 mute pad A02.

ive got S950 myself, yes it is possible to velocity switch between maximum 2 samples ( zones)
but later S series came up with up to 4 velocity layers - witch is great for programming realistic playable
keys and pianos , rhodes for example ....

if that function comes in JJOS Instrument programs that would make little MPC1000 an MPC and a rack sampler in one! but probably that's an overkill for the memory and the MPC OS ?

JJ giveth and JJ taketh away. Velocity -> filter is back but the second filter is gone.

Damn JJ...

That's Bullshit!!!

Give back the two q links or let them generate midi ccs that the internal programs can read so we can write multiple automation lines into the internal sequencer.

This dude has gone too far. instead of improving the sequencer he's got it turning into a **** roland sound canvas. That multimode is not worth it.

uh hasn't vel => filter been there all along in os2xl? hard to access (think you had to hit window or something) but totally there.

IDK, has it? I rarely use it, as I prefer to put a sample on multiple pads and change filter settings manually.

Sooty, yes I'm aware of (and use extensively) the internal EQ. I'm also aware that I can resample externally. And I also own a couple of rackmount filters and EQs and a bunch of filter/EQ plugins. I'm a filter/EQ junkie. I think by now, everyone knows that just about every sound manipulation limitation of just about every sampler can be overcome by resampling in some form or another. So bringing that up adds no value to the discussion. With respect to having the second filter, yes its a matter of convenience, just like half of the other features we want, request, or use. I mean I could say that using my 'put a sample on multiple pads and change filter setting manually' process is a workaround for your not having velocity->filter, but again, what value does that add to the conversation?

Anyway, I use the second filter on every single track (primarily to create a bandpass filter with variable bandwidth or to add some low or high shelving to drum samples). But that's the beauty of it all. Just because we have the same sampler (or even the same samples), that doesn't mean we will come up with the same finished product. Because we use things differently. So please don't tell me what i need to do if I want more filtering...

I didn't spend too much time with the beta last night, but i will double check to see if the second filter does indeed magically reappear. All I did was load a sample, NDC chop it, and create a new program, then when I went into the program's filter page, the second filter wasn't there. Are you saying that when you load an existing program the second filter is there???

crap! you're right. false alarm. sorry, mp3.

it only appears when you press the FILTER tab a second time (and as long as you are not in any of the ADSR columns). i switched over to 2xl late in the game and i just assumed he had killed it cause i never saw it. didn't even know it was hiding in there! i should have paid more attention when 2xl first dropped.

man i feel stupid ...but that's balanced out by my excitement knowing that it is in there now!

...but to be honest i don't like how he has it hidden like that. there is nothing else in the os that he has buried like that with no visual indication and it is easy to miss. maybe it would be better to use the WINDOW key or something?

So I stand corrected. Hopefully the second filter isn't gone, and all this is much ado about nothing

the filter setting have definately changed a little in OS2XL Ver2.00 - there are now EQL and EQH which were not there before
