****! you're right. false alarm. sorry, mp3.

it only appears when you press the FILTER tab a second time (and as long as you are not in any of the ADSR columns). i switched over to 2xl late in the game and i just assumed he had killed it cause i never saw it. didn't even know it was hiding in there! i should have paid more attention when 2xl first dropped.

man i feel stupid ...but that's balanced out by my excitement knowing that it is in there now!

...but to be honest i don't like how he has it hidden like that. there is nothing else in the os that he has buried like that with no visual indication and it is easy to miss. maybe it would be better to use the WINDOW key or something?

No sweat. I can understand that having more parameters than can be displayed (at all or in an intuitive manner) is a headache, that's one of the key concerns in user intereface design. So far JJ has done an excellent job in regards to designing this UI, but as he stuffs more and more features in, you can expect more and more UI hiccups like this one.

There are valid points on all sides of beta 3.The old pad layer and mute is something I would like to see
worked out.If you have a work around to being able to layer 4 samples each pad and setting mute to all
please share.I do not feel there is a true work around.Kinda the whole direct record thingggy.Peace TYPO

I agree the sky is falling,,, for me the biggest concern is NO SIMULT PAD! This would be an absolute NO GO for anyone serious about layering their drums.

^ is that a speculative concern, or did i miss some thread where simult pad is gone?

Nah both versions of simult are still there. The comparison chart has been updated in case anyone wanted to see whats what. But I agree, if anything negative happened to simult then that would be a deal breaker for me.

Well partially speculative since I didn't load up the Beta3. But check out what he wrote on the website,, towards the bottom, under 11. [Program]

Hope it gets fixed. I wonder if it's 1 or 2 or both that doesn't work?

MUTE works to MIDI IN NOTE.
SIMULT does not work.

that could possibly mean that SIMULT doesn't work with incoming midi notes, but still works with the pads.

^ just tested it. sooty is right. simult works as usual with the pads, but does NOT work with incoming midi note. this DOES throw a small wrench in the plans of usin virtual drums with the 1k. not the biggest deal to me yet. i don't remember, i think i remember simult not workin for external midi for a long time in os2xl?

I don't think its necessary to have simult for incoming midi note at all....
great work jj!

So I stand corrected. Hopefully the second filter isn't gone, and all this is much ado about nothing

the filter setting have definately changed a little in OS2XL Ver2.00 - there are now EQL and EQH which were not there before

i have only just realised that the 2500 version of the OS doesn't have these two filter settings. anyone know why? also, am i missing out on much not having them?
