yall dumb 2X8 is way better because when using an actual drum set, the 808 cowbell cant be reached when there's 3 drums in front of it

can I plug my midi headphones into it too?

but for real the tempset looks legit and for all those in the comments complaining 2000 tokens is too much, need to check the original prices on old drum machines

A new drum machine by roger Lin. And Dave smith. Analog and flexible at that. This thing is incredible! It doesn't have to be for you to appreciate it. And it isn't for me, it wouldn't replace my mpc but I could see getting this instead of a 909 or anything jomox or a machinedrum.

I am more interested in the Linn digital one. I think it's amazing to have 2 new drum machines from Roger Linn again, the guy who brought us drum machines and sequencers as we know them.

When he says that 2x8 is better than 4x4 he kind of chokeson his words. I think it's the best compromise but I think he can't say 4x4 is better and dis his own product. Long live Roger linn.

Technically, yes, 2X8 is better and comfortable. Its like playing keys of a piano and musicians will feel at home with it. 2k is just about right for an analog drum machine. I mean, c'mon, its ANALOG. There's plenty of digital machines for cheap, but this is a gem in this day and age.

If Linn can make a analog sampler, then that would be so dope 8)

Man I'm SO **** glad I never caved in and bought a MachineDrum or any other major piece of hardware, and held out for this. I knew they'd come through when the time was right. The Tempest won't replace my 1k. But I know it'll get a lot of use with the Evolver and the x0xb0x. 8)

yeah - I've been lusting after a machinedrum, but the tempest looks more like what I want

roger preferring the 2x8 layout better isn't new, he has mentioned that before. I guess it makes sense when you are trying to make the pads multi purpose with lights and that plus keeping the machine real estate low.

this looks decent, and I think it will be a hit in the genres of music that use this sort of thing.

2x8 does the exact same thing as 4x4. The prototypes had both designs and still are pretty much the same...same amount of real estate. Maschine's pads are multi-purpose with lights and still 4x4. Its a silly debate..I only mentioned it because Linn did in the video. Seems he anticipated "these kinds of threads" and had to justify the different design for us nerds/geeks. :P Its all good. Regardless, I don't desire this kind of product and still waiting on the implied game changer they have talked about for 2 years. I hope the digital version is that product.
