When i make a sequence i trie out different tracks and mute m and stuff.
When i make a song with those different sequences and use the convert song to sequence function,,, it screws everything up. It plays sounds that shouldnt be there and stuff. Does anyone know whats the catch here and what i can about it???

it might be a track mute problem.

I know on my 2k that when you convert song to sequence it uses the mute settings from track one only. so you have to delete all muted tracks from each sequnce before you convert - so all tracks of all sequnces are ON. theres a couple other things it reads from the first track only (i saw it in the manual but cant remember exactly - like program changes and stuff) that if you need you have to give some thought to - and maybe manually put back in to your new sequnce.

Skimmed over other responses but
THeres a ref. to 1st sequence option which is prob. the one your on.and if you turn the jog dial theres other options like 'off tracks ignored'. If you try one of these you should get what you want with one of the options. Cant remember what the one you want is. I dont think you need to delete muted tracks.

Now i have to reorder every track in every sequence to get it right :(

No way. Im gonna check that out again cos i definately did it in one settin once and it **** up then i changed it again and it converted to sequenceas you would want. Maybe theres somethin in the global settings. I had problems with converting at first but i was on 0s1.03. When i changed to 0s1.51 its fine. But theres no way you have to mute tracks before you record. Im nearly sure of it.

i have 1.6,,

And still if the tracks are muted, and the track order (with corresponding parts) are different for each sequence,,,, the convert to sequence function is fvcked up...

I think this should be fixed for the next update,, ill mail akai about this one

i don't think the track order matters as much as the mutes.

say you have a bunch of sequences with all different sorts of tracks muted and you want to make em a long sequence. if you take the time to delete all the muted tracks from each sequence (you might want to make extra copies so you can keep your old versions with the mutes) then it should come out fine. it seems to go off the mute settings from the first sequence only, so you want to make sure theres no muted tracks in any of the sequences you are combining....

(disclaimer - i have a 2k not a 4k, but i still think thats the deal, but i may be wrong cause the 4k is fancy!)

It`s the same plus you have to use the reference the 1st track function along with turning the reset qlink function to off in the Misc page. I `m using mute tracks in sequences then convert to sequence all the time.
